“Am I Allowed to Say That?”: Why Compliance is Necessary

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Oh, boy! The world of compliance!

Often referred to as the anti-sales department, the enforcement arm, or the ”no-team,” compliance officers are used to being the last picked for dodgeball. With all the slogans thrown around the water cooler about the world of regulation, is compliance really a bad thing?

In the realm of financial services, people are quick to think about the 2008 financial crisis, the Bernie Madoff scandal, or even the collapse of significant players in the banking world. And now with the reformation of the Dodd-Frank Act and the ever-looming DOL Fiduciary Rule, many financial professionals’ heads are spinning. No one is quite sure what to expect over the next 12 months.

You don’t have to worry about the ever-changing regulations!

A well-versed compliance team can actually be your best friend. When you have a dedicated team of compliance professionals working on your behalf, you can rest easy knowing that your marketing materials are current, factual, and accurate. It’s their job to stay up to date on today’s ever-changing regulatory transformation. By utilizing a compliance professional, you can focus on what’s important: growing your practice.

Where can you find an expert compliance team?

Impact offers an in-house compliance department that has over 40 years of collected experience in insurance, FINRA and SEC guidelines, and everything in between. We’re dedicated to reading regulatory updates and perusing Investment News for their daily dose of the financial industry. We’re also busy at work reviewing content to keep our advisors on the right side of the law, so to speak. During a typical week, our team is reviewing radio shows, television segments, and marketing materials to provide clarity for the public.

Compliance and marketing collaborate to ensure that advisors receive the best, most compelling marketing possible. After all, it’s your voice that’s being broadcast to the public so you need to sound like a person who people want to work with on top of sounding like yourself. Your brand is who you are and Impact helps makes sure that every piece you put out accurately represents your brand identity, whether it’s a social media post or a flyer for your next event. They’re part of your team!

Compliance professionals are great resources for you to take advantage of to provide valuable insight, build your business, and look your best to potential clients.
