1 - Change website hosting only. (CNAME or A record) - Up to 48 hours
To point the web hosting only to our hosting and leave emails and domain ownership where they currently are we will need access to your website hosting. We will change the A record or CNAME record in your DNS file which will point web hosting to us and leave emails and domain ownership unaffected.
Some registrars do not allow CNAME record changes. If this is the case, then the A record will be updated. In this instance, any time we update servers we will need to update your A record each time. This can happen multiple times a year.
2 - Change website and email hosting only. (Change nameservers) - 1-4 days
To change both the website and email hosting to us we will need access to your domain registrar (the retailer you purchased your domain from), and login information to every email account associated with this domain.
3 - DNS Record Update
If Impact does not manage your DNS records, our team may request access to add/update/modify records with your DNS host. Please select this option if requested by your Marketing Strategist
In order for Impact to transfer emails, we will need access to every email account to be transferred as well as the location of where emails are hosted. All emails stored on the hosting server will be backed up and transferred. Any emails that are connected via a POP or POP3 account and 3rd party provider (I.e. Outlook, Mail, Thunderbird, etc.) reside locally on the users computer and are not a apart of the transfer process.
